Ipanema - IP Reporting Utility ... Great Shareware!

Ipanema

For a mere $4.95 you can have an IP reporting utility that will email you when your IP changes. If you are constantly "on the road" and need to access those valuable files from home, this simple utility can have you reach your remote computer without the worry of a refreshed IP address change.

Ipanema will report your IP addresses to you via OS X Mail, once a day at a time you can determine. The software can also send instant reports any time you wish. When an IP address changes on ethernet, airport or PPP, Ipanema will automatically send a report--even telling you your "real" non-firewall hidden IP address! You can find Ipanema here - IfThenSoftware Leopard Only ~!

Backup, Backup, Backup ....

One of the best suggestions any consultant can make is to encourage people to back up their data on a regular schedule. With the advent of Time Machine in Leopard OS X 10.5.2 , this task is easier than ever but does not offer the ultimate solution. The best backup is a fully "bootable" copy or "clone" of the computer you are backing up. In steps SuperDuper from Shirt-Pocket with an easy to use interface, automatic scheduling ability and the option to do "incremental" or "smart" backups.

The program is free to do a basic backup but to unlock the Scheduling, Smart Update (which saves a lot of time), Sandboxes, scripting, you will need to buy the application for $27.95
